数値解析・応用解析セミナー 6月14日(火) 15:30 -- 17:00 Patrick van Meurs (金沢大学数物科学系) ``Collective behaviour of interacting particles'' <研究発表要旨> We study the many-particle limit of an interacting particle system. The velocities of the particles are described by a non-linear function which depends on all particle positions. The resulting system of first-order ODEs has a gradient flow structure with respect to an energy functional E_n, where n is the number of particles. I will present how to pass to the limit n --> \infty in this sequence of gradient flows. The limiting gradient flow takes the form of a continuity equation for the particle density.
