Numerical Analysis, Scientific Computation, Inverse Problems

inverse and ill-posed problems are related to non-destructive test, noninvasive test, and imaging sciences. Since they are usuall unstable, we need to develop accurate and reliable numerical methods including multiple-precision arithmetic. To analyze phenomena and our algorithm, corresponding forward problems are also studied.

As a specific issue, I deal with tomography (e.g. X-ray CT, with partial data). I am also working on optical tomography, specifically conducting huge scale parallel computations for the stationary radiative transport equation.

Example: NIR propagation in brain for optical tomography
